Privacy Policy
Last updated June 6, 2026
AnswerThing (“we”, “us”) is an AI assistant that reads your email, drafts replies in your voice, and surfaces them for your one-tap approval. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. AnswerThing is a private beta operated by an individual; contact us at yoelgal108@gmail.com with any questions.
What we access
When you connect a mailbox, you authorise AnswerThing to access:
- Your email messages and threads — to identify questions, draft replies, and (only after you approve) send a reply within the original thread.
- Your past sent mail — to learn your writing style and the answers you typically give.
- Your email address and basic account info — to associate the connection with your account.
If you connect Gmail, we request access through Google OAuth. We use this access solely to provide the features above.
Google user data & Limited Use
AnswerThing’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically, we do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, we do not transfer it except as needed to provide the service or as required by law, and we do not allow humans to read it except with your consent, for security or debugging, or where required by law. We do not use your Google user data to train generalised AI/ML models.
How we use your data
- Detect repeat questions and draft replies in your voice.
- Send a reply to a thread only after you explicitly approve it.
- Learn from your edits and approvals to improve future drafts.
Nothing is ever sent without your explicit, per-message approval. The assistant proposes; you decide.
Processing & sub-processors
To provide the service we share the minimum necessary data with infrastructure providers that process it on our behalf: Supabase (database/auth hosting, including the learned-answer store) and OpenRouter (LLM inference for drafting and text embeddings for recall). These providers process data under their own terms and only to deliver their service to us.
Retention & deletion
We retain connected-account data and learned answers for as long as your account is active. You can disconnect your mailbox at any time, and you can revoke AnswerThing’s access directly from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. To delete your account and associated data, email us at yoelgal108@gmail.com and we will remove it.
Security
Data is stored with access controls and encrypted in transit. This is an early-stage prototype; while we take reasonable measures, no system is perfectly secure.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
